Commitment

1

The size of the bonito

In spring, young 2-3kg first-catch bonito; in autumn, richly fatty 4-5kg returning bonito, carefully selected by season.

2

Raw bonito from Kochi

Most Kochi bonito is pole-and-line caught, leaving it beautiful and undamaged. We ship our select bonito direct from the port.

3

Straw from Shiga

We use straw hand-cut ourselves from vast contracted fields in Kohoku, northern Shiga. Dried straw burns hot with the finest smoky aroma.

4

The grilling

Over straw flames reaching 1000 degrees, we sear a crust about 5mm into the flesh, then finish with residual heat to lock in flavor.

5

The thickness of the cut

Cut over 1cm thick so the straw aroma fills your mouth, brimming with bonito flavor and a springy texture.

6

Our chosen salt

A fully sun-dried salt handmade by artisans from Kochi seawater. We select larger crystals for a mellow mineral taste.

Service

01

Robata & Warayaki

02

Seafood & Sashimi

04

How to enjoy Robata

Robata Story

01

One minute from either station, then to the hearth

About a minute on foot from the south exit of JR Ishiyama Station, and about a minute from Keihan Ishiyama Station. Once inside the 78 seat room, go and stand where the straw flames rise.

02

Tosa-Saga bonito, exactly as it comes

The bonito is shipped direct from Tosa-Saga port in Kochi. Begin at the smoke-wrapped surface, with nothing added, and confirm the sweetness of the fish itself.

03

Bring in condiments, rock salt and citrus

Change the flavor for the second half. Straw-grilled Omi beef from Shiga also finishes lighter with rock salt and a squeeze of citrus.

04

A cup on the open terrace

Counter, table and sofa seats, plus an open terrace. Cigarettes are allowed on the terrace only, and it suits a drink after a walk along the Seta River or the Seta no Karahashi bridge.

An occasion to celebrate hard work with cherished colleagues, an opportunity to mark a project's success, or a simple get-together with family and friends—planning such after-parties always brings excitement. Yet, isn't it also true that organizers often face challenges like finding and reserving a suitable venue, the inconvenience of travel, and concerns about other guests?

Our restaurant has long been a beloved venue for 'Ishiyama after-parties,' helping to make your special moments memorable with dishes featuring abundant fresh seafood, a comfortable atmosphere, and above all, heartwarming hospitality. However, enjoying an after-party isn't limited to dining in our establishment. Driven by our desire for more people to freely savor our acclaimed flavors, this time we introduce practical tips for utilizing takeout and delivery services, enabling you to host an 'Ishiyama after-party' at home or any location you prefer.

In this column, we will explore the charm of an 'Ishiyama after-party' in a cozy, relaxed setting—a different experience from the bustling restaurant atmosphere—and provide concrete tips for making it a reality. Please read on to the end.

Challenging the Norms of the 'Ishiyama After-Party'? Why a New Banquet Style is Gaining Popularity

Until now, when you thought of an 'Ishiyama after-party,' many likely pictured 'dining out at a restaurant.' The time spent sharing delicious food and drinks and engaging in lively conversation in a bustling izakaya atmosphere is, without a doubt, invaluable. Especially when planning a 'large group banquet in Ishiyama,' many people would compare various 'Ishiyama izakayas' in search of a spacious venue capable of accommodating numerous guests.

  • Freedom from the hassle of finding a restaurant and booking difficulties: Especially on weekends, holidays, and during year-end/New Year party seasons, reserving an 'Ishiyama izakaya' for your desired date, time, and number of people can be a struggle. The larger the group, the harder it is to find a suitable restaurant. Takeout and delivery free you from such restaurant-hunting stress.
  • Beyond time and location constraints: Another big appeal is being able to enjoy at your own pace without worrying about closing times. Furthermore, not just your home, but also company meeting rooms, local community centers, or a friend's house can quickly transform into an 'Ishiyama after-party' venue as long as there's power. Customers in Otsu City, as well as those from the 'Awazu bar' area, can feel free to use our services.
  • Flexible choices to match your budget: While course meals at a restaurant are appealing, with takeout and delivery, you can freely combine individual dishes, achieving maximum satisfaction within your budget. By preparing your own drinks, you can reduce costs while enjoying your favorite brands to your heart's content.

This new style of 'Ishiyama after-party' is currently garnering attention as a more flexible and convenient option, perfectly suited to modern lifestyles. We are dedicated not just to providing delicious food, but to wholeheartedly supporting you in making your after-party a truly memorable event.

Brightening Your 'Ishiyama After-Party' at Home! Takeout and Delivery Utilization Guide

When you start planning an 'Ishiyama after-party' at your home or a specified location, questions might arise like, 'What kind of dishes should I choose?' or 'How should I handle drinks and supplies?' Don't worry. Here, we'll provide concrete tips to help you maximize our takeout and delivery services and orchestrate a perfect banquet.

Choosing Your Dishes: Recommended Menus for Every Occasion

Our takeout and delivery menus offer a wide array of choices to suit various 'after-party' occasions. In particular, our 'Ishiyama Seafood' dishes, crafted with a strong emphasis on freshness and quality ingredients, can be enjoyed at home with the same exquisite taste as in our restaurant.

  • Grace your table with a luxurious main dish: Main dishes that adorn the center of your table, such as a splendid 'Ishiyama seafood' platter or special roast beef, instantly liven up the party atmosphere. Especially our sashimi platter, generously using fresh seafood procured that morning, is visually stunning and perfect for a large group 'Ishiyama after-party'.
  • Shareable large dishes and appetizers: Large dishes easy for everyone to share, like karaage (fried chicken), ebi chili (chili shrimp), or seasonal vegetable fritto, can spark conversation. Colorful appetizers are sure to be a big hit as both starters and accompaniments to drinks. If you consult us about children's menus, we will accommodate as much as possible.
  • Don't forget the finish! Rice and noodle dishes: At the end of a banquet, comforting rice or noodle dishes are essential. Conclude your best 'Ishiyama after-party' with satisfying dishes that fill both stomach and heart, such as our special sushi platter, seafood chirashi sushi, or udon/soba with our signature dashi broth.

Preparing Drinks and Supplies: For a Flawless Banquet

Once your dishes are decided, the next step is to prepare drinks and supplies. For takeout and delivery, these arrangements are typically handled by the host, but with a little creativity, you can ensure a more enjoyable banquet.

  • BYOB (Bring Your Own Beverage) is fine: Unlike restaurant drink menus, a benefit of takeout and delivery is being able to freely prepare your favorite brands of alcohol or soft drinks. Guests can bring wine or sake to compare, or non-alcoholic cocktails can be prepared, allowing everyone to enjoy drinks suited to their preferences.
  • Utilize disposable dishes and cutlery: If you want to save on cleanup time, using paper plates, disposable chopsticks, plastic cups, etc., is a good idea. Recently, many stylish disposable dishes are sold, allowing for arrangements that don't look cheap. We can also provide minimal disposable supplies upon request, so please feel free to ask.
  • Create a special atmosphere with table settings: Even by simply laying a table cloth or decorating with small flowers, the atmosphere will become much more like a restaurant. Dimming the lights slightly and playing background music is also recommended. Such preparations should also become one of the fun events that liven up your 'Ishiyama after-party'.

Smooth Delivery and Pickup Service Guide

By ensuring a smooth process from ordering to receiving or delivery, you can fully enjoy your 'Ishiyama after-party' on the day without any last-minute rush.

  • Advance reservation is essential for orders: Especially for 'Ishiyama large group banquets' and on weekends/holidays, congestion is expected, so we recommend booking as early as possible. Please inform us of your desired menu, date/time, number of people, and choice of delivery or pickup via phone or website. For delivery, we cover a wide area within Otsu City, including customers from the 'Awazu bar' area, delivering to your specified location without you having to search for an 'Otsu izakaya'.
  • Confirm delivery area and time: Our delivery area widely covers Otsu City, including the Ishiyama Station vicinity and the 'Awazu bar' area. However, delivery might be difficult in some areas or time slots, so please confirm when booking. Also, please allow ample time, considering the possibility of delays due to bad weather or other factors.
  • For pickup customers: If you wish to pick up at the store, we will prepare your dishes warm according to your specified time. For customers coming by car, there is a temporary parking space near the store, so please use it with peace of mind.
